# Comments

> Discuss an issue with your team, right where the work happens

Comments let you discuss an [issue](/concepts/issues) without leaving it. Each comment is plain text written by a single author and attached to one issue.

## Adding a comment

Open an issue and add a comment from its comment thread. Adding or deleting a comment is also recorded in the project's [activity log](/concepts/activity-log) internally, though that log isn't currently viewable anywhere in the app.

## Notifications

If you comment on an issue you're not the assignee of, Orbit sends the assignee an [in-app notification](/concepts/notifications) so they know discussion is happening on their issue. Commenting on your own assigned issue doesn't notify yourself.

## Deleting a comment

You can delete your own comments. Orbit does not currently support editing a comment after it's posted, or deleting someone else's comment.
