# Onboarding

> The guided flows new users and new workspaces see

Orbit has two separate onboarding flows, each shown once and tracked independently per user.

## Welcome onboarding

Every new user sees a general welcome walkthrough the first time they sign in, introducing the parts of the app they'll use day to day. Once you finish it, it won't show again for your account.

## First-project onboarding

If the workspace has no projects yet, the account that created it (the [admin](/guides/roles-and-permissions)) is guided through creating the very first project — name, description, and color — instead of landing on an empty dashboard. This flow only appears while the workspace has zero projects; as soon as one exists, new accounts skip straight to the regular welcome onboarding.

## Re-triggering onboarding

Both onboarding flows are tracked as a completed flag on your account, not something you can reset from the UI. If you need to see them again — for example, while writing documentation or testing — that requires resetting the flag directly on the account.
